Making A Simple Pattern For Moccasins

Hey everyone! I have found a simple pattern for moccasins! This is very cool and simple.

If you are creative and love have some fun, try next:

Moccasins are the popular type of comforters, used originally as boots and as shoes by many Native Americans in the North. These can be made from various types of materials that will not cost you a penny at all for they can be found all over the house like used garment textile and leather.

Steps

First is to stand over a piece of paper (preferably butcher paper), then if it will be comfortable in your part, carefully trace each of your feet using a pencil. Make sure that in making these moccasins pattern, your heel must be separated from the edge of the paper at about an inch apart. Also, you must never forget to mark the ankles – these markings are important since they will dictate where the 2-inch mark from the angle will be placed.

A measurement must be done from the widest part of where your foot that touches the floor and crossing halfway the other side of the other foot. Take note of these measurements and add a maximum of 8 inches to it, for these extra measurements will allow your moccasins to expand. After measuring 1.5 inches from the heel then cautiously trace and draw a straight line running left to right of the tracing. Next, make a measurement from the floor to your anklebone added with a specific allowance of your own desire. Notice that this overall moccasins pattern will give you a “T” form.

Sewing Time!

After the pattern is made, carefully cut it and trace it on the wrong side of the leather by using a pencil or an erasable pen to trace it. Now your pair of moccasins is almost done! After, fold the leather (at the right side) and punch holes along the 8-inch allowance. Then, after punching holes on them, use a lacing needle to attach the whole piece together, remember to start at the tip of the lacing!

Make the lacing run from the holes at the back then to the front and stop when you are at an estimated 2 inches from the free end of the leather. Repeat the same lacing pattern from the back to the front, until sewing of the whole seam is accomplished. It is that simple! Follow the same instructions for lacing on the other pair and there you go, just do a few stitches to secure the side, invert your work and you just have your very own pair of moccasins!
